Internet Marketing has helped Christopher Sia (Chris to his friends) to quit his job.  Today, Chris no longer needs to serve and wait on his customers in the retail fashion store which he used to work. I first heard about Chris’s inspiring story just over two year ago during an Internet marketing seminar. He had a Plan B whilst working on his job. Here’s how Chris, an affable young man, tells his story…

Chris Telling His Own Story…

I’m Christopher Sia and I’ve started making money online since I was 20 years old and I’ve been making money online for 4 years now. Before going full time of making a living with internet income, I was an employee of a retail store, working as a sales promoter from 10am – 10pm, 6 days a week. Because I didn’t complete my studies in college and don’t have an academic certificate, I wasn’t able to find a decent 9 – 5 job. Despite working from 10 am – 10 pm, six days a week, I was earning a low pay. Each month, after deducting my room rental, transport expenses and meals from my salary, I had very little left for my savings. Of course – little balance to hangout with my friends.

After that, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the possibilities of making money online by selling digital downloadable information products. Since then, my life has changed completely and I went from doing it part time to full time after a few months of launching my own products.

The wonder of being an internet business owner is that the business is running on the internet for 24/7, I’m blessed to make money online even when I’m sleeping. Right now, I can enjoy my freedom of working anytime and anywhere.

Q 1.1 What advice would you give to people who are now employed, but who *are not finding satisfaction in what they are doing ?

In my humble opinion, life is all about doing what you love to do. If you’re not finding satisfaction in what you’re doing right now, you must make a change now.

Q 1.2 What advice would you give to people who *are worried about the loss of their jobs?

If you’re worried about losing your job, you may consider to learn how to make money online. There are many ways of making money online, and the capital for starting your Internet business is really low compared to conventional businesses. By starting your own internet business, you will have a new income stream and will not have to worry about losing your job anymore.

Q 1.3 What advice would you give to people who *believe that they have skills and talents that are not being used?

I learnt from my mentor, Patric Chan (an internet millionaire), that if you have skills and talents that are not being used, you can actually create your own information product and teaching people about your skills and talents. This is exactly what I’m doing, teaching people how to draw portraits and also how to make money online. Info products are something that you can create from thin air. In fact, you can start to create it on your own right now. Info products consist of e-books, videos, or audios. You will be surprised that there are so many people all around the world who are interested in learning your skills and talents.

Q 2. Why did you choose what you are doing now to make a living?

Actually, I wasn’t finding satisfaction in my previous job, so I started to keep surfing the Internet and finding ways to make more money. The main reason I wanted to make more money is that there are many people looking down on me back then, including my friends. To prove to them and myself that I can succeed without any academic certificates, I decided to go full time, quit my job, and focus on my Internet business.

Q 3. How did you manage yourself from being employed to being your own boss and making your own income?

Because I had a 10 am-10 pm job, it was really tough for me to make money online part time. I can still remember that after I came back home from work and showered, it was already 12 midnight and I was really tired. The only time I can learn how to make money online is from 12 am – 4 am (back then, I woke up every day around 9 am). Basically, I spent almost every day learning how to make money online, including my only off day. I’m thankful that I’m able to make my own income now.

I believe if you don’t give up and keep going, you will eventually succeed and be your own boss to make your own income.

Q 4. What were the challenges that you had to overcome in making the change?

The challenges include going out of your comfort zone and start learning new things. For me in the past, I didn’t know anything about Internet marketing and basic technical computer skills. I felt really uncomfortable to learn and apply them without knowing if I can succeed with it.

It takes determination and a never-give-up attitude to succeed. Some people tend to give excuses to themselves saying that they don’t have the time, the skills, the knowledge. The truth is, you are responsible for managing your time and if you really don’t have the time, you can always cut down your TV time, and going out less. If you don’t have the skill and knowledge, you can always learn about them by surfing the Internet, reading books, attending seminars, etc. It is only a matter of time to master the skill and knowledge.

Q 5. Can you share the benefits and the joy in what you are doing now?

The wonder of having an Internet business of selling info products is that once you’ve launched your products, the whole process is almost automated. From people visiting your website, making purchase, download your info product, everything is automated and you don’t have to be in front of your computer. Because of this, I’m now able to spend more time with my family, going out more often with my friends, buying luxury gifts to my parents, and travelling about 3 – 4 times a year.

Q 6. Looking back, what would you have done differently and what advice can you share?

In my humble opinion, I believe everything happens for a reason, so if given a chance, I will not do anything differently. We learn from mistakes and grow from there.

If you truly want to succeed, I would advise you to set specific goals and do whatever it takes to reach your goals. When you face obstacles, change your strategies and take massive action again until you succeed.

The latest from thought leaders is that the economic contribution from activities attributed by the Internet, including the many freebies that ride on it, is forcing a rethink on a country’s GDP.
