Van Gogh's Starry Night in Singapore

Interviews

My dear readers and subscribers, your support and encouragement have given me renewed energy and resolve to make my blog a more varied one and hopefully more valuable and exciting. It has been fun so far. I hope it has been the same for you too.

My blog has reached the stage where I am planning a series of interviews of inspiring people from all walks of life. I find their stories inspirational and I’d like to share them with you too. My blog posts thus far have been broadly categorised into Health, Wealth and Wisdom – the sum of which adds to our Happiness. I may have over-simplified, but then I’d rather simplify than to complicate.

For my younger readers, may you pursue your dreams and your passion and use your talent and potential to the fullest possible. Time waits for no one, and my sincere advice is for you to prepare yourself early before you have to face this question ‘Retire – Do What?’

And to my generation of fellow baby boomers, I’d like to invite you to rhyme with Lord Tennyson’s Ulysses ‘To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.’  Although made weak by time and fate, we can still be strong in will! We have benefitted from our times, maybe even taken too much, and it is morally right to think and help the next generation.

In these times of economic uncertainties, losing a job is involuntary retirement. Being retrenched is like retirement without a choice. I think it is good advice for people who are employees to have a Plan B by engaging in start up business and build multiple streams of income. The featured interviews are stories about those with the courage to lift themselves, and their loved ones, to live a fuller life.

“Courage” said Ellen MacArthur “is not having the energy to go on, it’s going on when you don’t have the energy.” She knows, for she had sailed single-handed round the world and set a round-the-world record.
