Baroness Thatcher – A Salute To Your Leadership
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield…
As a 13-year-old school boy, the line that British adventurer, Sir Robert Falcon Scott, wrote in his diary whilst attempting to reach the South Pole was indelibly etched into my mind. ” To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield “ was Scott’s last diary entry before he and his four companions perished from the cold, exhaustion and starvation. Never mind the controversies that had been thrown at him decades later, his heroic endeavour and his message still ring true for me.
Today, millions in the UK and across the world mourn the loss of one of 21st century’s great political leaders, the Iron Lady. Like Scott, there are controversies, but she had to fight and live through her convictions during her political life. Baroness Thatcher may you rest in peace.
It is my privilege to have lived and worked in the country which you had rebuilt and applied the 5 great leadership lessons which Mark Fidelman wrote in Forbes.
