My Best Travel Quotes
The truth about travel is that it invariably ends up as #1 in most people’s bucket list. Strange, don’t you think? Despite the hassles in the airports, long queues and security checkpoints, travel has grown exponentially. These inconveniences cannot diminish our search for curiosity, fun, freedom and the sense of fulfillment that travel brings.
Looking through my travel photo albums, and hard disks too, I tried to find photos that can match my best travel quotes. This task, a rather pleasant one I should like to add, was prompted no less by what Bill Bryson (known for his humorous books on travel) has said:
“I can’t think of anything that excites a greater sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country where you are ignorant of almost everything.”
So here are my favourite travel quotes, along with my, hopefully, matching photos:
1. “Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by.” ~ Robert Frost
2. “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” ~ Saint Augustine
3. “Oh the places you’ll go.” ~ Dr. Seuss
4. “If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might better stay at home.” ~ James Michener
5. “A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.” ~ Tim Cahill
6. “Journeys end in lovers meeting.” ~ William Shakespeare
7. “If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.” ~ Katharine Hepburn
8. “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” ~ Lao Tzu
9. “Go to Heaven for the climate, Hell for the company.” ~ Mark Twain
10. “Not all those who wander are lost.” ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
Now, it’s over to you. Please feel free to share your favourite travel quotes here in the comments box below. Happy traveling 🙂
