Farewell My Brother Ezra: Tributes In Verses I Love
Farewell my brother Ezra: Missionary and servant of God, Pastor for thousands, loving father and grandfather, devoted husband, kind uncle to all your nieces and nephews, and a caring brother to your seven siblings.
Your job on earth is now done. And you have earned an eternal Life in His Kingdom. Amen
You are indeed a man for all seasons. It’s Grace that has brought you safe thus far and Grace will lead you home. You know that Amazing Grace is my favourite. Allow me to pay you tributes with the verses I love.
“Limitless undying love which
shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on across the universe”
~ Beatles “Across The Universe”
“For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars…the house…the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.”
~ Linda Ellis “The Dash”
“Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time ”
~ Henry W. Longfellow “A Psalm Of Life”
“Up, up the long delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
– Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.”
~ Pilot Officer Gillespie Magee “High Flight”
“Life is not about the people
who act true on your face..
It’s about the people who
remain true behind your back”
~ Anon. “Lovely Thoughts About Life”
“What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind.”
~ William Wordsworth “Ode: Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood”
‘Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
